PADDLE BOATS

As the premiere alpine river in the country, the Middle Fork of the Salmon drops 2700 ft in it’s 100 mile course providing heart pounding whitewater excitement with crystal clear waters. It is a wonderfully diverse river with whitewater ranging from long technical rapids that require precise maneuvering, to exhilarating drops at Velvet and Tappan Falls.The big waves of Impassable Canyon offer a fantastic finish to this exciting whitewater trip. There are over 80 rapids in all with the largest being class IV. Our guide staff are excellent high and low water boatmen and look forward to the challenges of the Middle Fork each summer.

OAR BOATS

Family raft trips are truly our favorite. We have a young family and love seeing the world through the eyes of our children, always exciting, mostly inspiring, never dull. If you want to experience a family vacation you and your kids will never forget, the Middle Fork is certainly that trip and more. Imagine floating through the lower 48’s largest wilderness area past incredible canyons, casting for hungry trout, while running world class whitewater with your kids right by your side! Once in camp, take a swim, hike to a hot spring, play a game of horseshoes, or just simply relax and enjoy each other. This is a trip with no cell phones or video games, it is a trip about an incredible river that has the power to bring families together creating memories that will last a lifetime. June trips with high water are good for children 14 and up while July and August launches are perfect for families with children of all ages.

INFLATABLE KAYAKS

The Middle Fork is renowned for it’s West Slope Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout fishing. Please bring rods in a hard case to prevent breakage while in the rafts. You will need to pick up an Idaho fishing license online at the Idaho Fish and Game website. The Stanley Fly Shop offers an excellent selection of flies and they put together a fly box made specifically for the Middle Fork. The Salmon River Fly Box in Salmon, ID also offers flies and gear. Fishing regulations are catch and release only with single barbless hooks.

Our mid July river tour featured great guides, great food, great scenery and awesome fishing. Clint and his excellent cast of guides provided a memorable experience. Their attention to our comfort and safety were paramount. Wouldn’t have changed anything. Learned a ton about fishing, the area’s history, and highlights along the way. The crystal clear water was a delight as were the hot springs, side trails and hikes, and wildlife along the way. If this type of adventure is on your radar, this would be the organization to book it with!
